We've officially opened our booth!

I am so excited :)
It's fun to have a creative outlet

Faye Louise is....

Seven months old (10 days ago)

Nights have been long and there's not much I can get done during the day but that's ok. These days with you being so little won't last long. I'll just keep soaking it in.

You are a funny girl. I can tell that you have your siblings humor. You have such a sweet spirit and smile at everyone.

You have beautiful dark eye-lashes just like Olivia. And your hair is starting to come in a little bit more. When I wash it, it gets all fluffy. We call it 'chicken head'. Not sure why. It's just one of those unexplainable quirky nicknames. Your siblings have suffered the same cruelty. I was called 'turkey butt' most of my childhood.

We love you so much. We are so blessed to have you as part of our family. I love watching you with Olivia and Liam. You love them so much. You just 'get' Olivia and I can't wait for the day when you and her will play tea party together or stay up late talking in your room. You think Liam is hilarious. He is pretty funny. I think you'll have some great adventures together. Don't go along with everything he wants to do... It almost always involves him getting hurt.

Happy 7 months Faye!
We ♥ you!

a random non-birthday wish...

Liam started singing 'happy birthday' to each of us and so it was only fitting that we go all out.

a little family night...

a little outing...

a few weeks ago, we went to a nearby
farm park with my parents, youngest brother
and sister, my grandparents, my aunt, and my
second cousin.

i have pictures somewhere of me and my
family there a long time ago, playing on the
same playground, sliding down the same
old twisty barn slide, and feeding the animals
with animal feed in a cone.

we made new memories and they are
even better...

Little Liam...

This is Liam's 'creepy' voice.

He did this voice at dinner on Saturday night and
we laughed and now it's a new favorite. Sometimes
we tell him funny things to say. But, today he was talking
about his 'cheese taco and soda pop' (aka gatorade).

*that's marker on his eyelid

Little lessons...

Going over Romans 4 for the Believing God study I realized an important life lesson that I didn't think held any importance to my adult life.

I don't know how old I was but I was young. (probably 9 or 10) My mom hated any use of God's name in vain. That included 'gosh'. I tried so very hard for months not to say 'gosh' as in 'oh my gosh' and I didn't and was so proud of myself that I was being so obedient to my mom and God. But I lived with this constant fear that I was going to screw up and something bad would happen.

Then, one day, I got upset about who knows what and it happened...

I uttered 'oh my gosh' under my breath. No one else could hear me. No one was around. At first I held my breath in shock that I had just said it. And then I waited for something to happen...

But nothing did...

I was surprised that the Lord hadn't struck me down but then an unforgettable sense of joy and peace flooded over me. It felt so good not to be perfect. It felt so good to let my guard down.

I didn't start going around saying bad words all the time but I learned something that day. I learned about God's grace and didn't even know it.

The story behind this photo?

I was making room in the fridge and threw out the egg carton and put the last egg in the little flip-top caddy area on the top of the door in the fridge. It's where I keep butter sticks.

Anyways, Jess told me that it was a dumb place cause it would fall out cause I would forget it was there next time I got butter out...

He was right... Partially. He said it would hit me. As you can see, it hit the floor.

some photobooth fun with olivia...

what are you having for a snack?
probably not really awesome cookie monsters!
might just be our dinner since i am not prepared
to feed the hungry mob. unless i can prepare a whole
frozen chicken in 30 mintues....

Gratefulness...

I'm really liking this so I might keep up with it...

1. getting to skype with a lovely friend of mine last night. love you brie!
2. hanging out with our kids last night before bed
3. finding a REALLY awesome piano on craig's list (it's exactly what i have been holding out for! it will be such a blessing to us. i can't wait to re-learn right along with my kids!)
4. having a good response to the bible study i'm doing right now. very encouraging. i know it's going to bless a lot of women's lives and our church and those around us.
5. little baby rio is doing well and going home! (friend's baby who was unexpectedly taken to another hospital at 1 day old for some unknown breathing issues but he is healed, in jesus name!)
