365/70-73

We had a lovely anniversary weekend. Liam and liv went to my parents' and we finished the girls' bedroom...

This is a big night for me...
Liam is gonna sleep in a big boy bed and Faye will be in the crib in her new bedroom with her sissy...

Why must they grow so quickly?

6 years ago today we said
'I do'...

We eloped... At a courthouse...

6 years ago it was for reasons that are bittersweet to us...

6 years ago we thought we knew what we were doing...

5 years ago we figured out that we had no idea what we were doing and that we'd better figure it out soon cause our first-born was due anyday...

Last year we started to figure it out...

This year is even better...

I can honestly say that love grows with time...

We have taught eachother so much and together we have learned even more...

We don't have it all together...

We probably never will...

We feel greatly blessed when we look back and see how God made us better out of the messes we created.

We are living proof that God cares and can work miracles within marriages...

If you let Him...

We've cried but we've laughed a whole lot more...

We are truly happy and are beyond blessed...

We look forward to the future and what God has in store for us...

And, hopefully, many more years to celebrate...

A friendly self reminder...

Last night, like the good mother I am, I canceled a friend coming over today because my son's eye is still funky and my husband wasn't feeling well...

Today, like the doctor that I am not, I decided that my son's eye would be ok and that I'll try and see if eye drops will clear it up...

Today, like the bad housekeeper that I am, I left my house in dire need of cleaning...

Today, like the good mother I am, I bathed my baby while laughing to myself that I had perfectly predicted what she had done while sitting on the couch... a blow out...

Today, like the tired crabby mommy I was, I stupidly attempted a nap with no such luck...

Today, like the crazy mom I can be, bundled my crew up (liam's funky eye and all) and decided we'd walk to the video rental store and to our local dairy queen...

Tonight, like the good housekeeper I can be, turned off the tv and got the crew picking up their toys before their daddy got home...

Tonight, like the slacker housewife/mother I can be, I didn't make dinner but instead offered dairy queen to my hungry crew on a blanket on the living room floor while watching the movie we walked to go get...

Tonight, like the mother I am, my heart swells with pride and love for my crew and how lovingly they accept their crazy mommy...

Being a mommy for almost 5 years now I've learned a thing or two....

Your kids need love and it will take them far... Love, to them, can be a smile when they enter the room, a hug, a kiss, playing a silly game of 'be my puppy', making a craft.... You get the picture.

When they get older they'll appreciate and realize that your love ran deeper then games and hugs. But when they are young all they see is what you are or are not doing with them. They don't just want a half a$$ed answer or one listening ear. They want your full attention... Give it to them whenever you can...

The dishes can wait. The house can wait. They grow too fast and you'll look back and wonder why you were so worried about keeping house when a house is just a place to LIVE...

Never have anything too nice. Never show more emotion over an object then you do your child...

Never make plans or lists or goals... They never happen... Just get done what you can and call it a good day...

Don't try to have it all figured out... You will never figure it all out...

Laugh when your children shove your imperfections in your face...

Enjoy looking young... You baffle the minds of many wherever you go... God can use that...

project 52:5

This was my husband's first time planning one of our dates. He did a wonderful job! Just look at this spread!

That fondue pot was given to us when we got married and we've never used it! Until, Friday night...
He bought white chocolate chips to melt down, strawberries, angel food cake, cheesecake, and my favorite drink!

He put far more thought into his planning then I did in the 4 dates I planned put together. I'd like to think that it's because he's a dad and doesn't have quite as much going through his head as I do on a daily basis but I know that isn't true. He's just great at planning ahead and i'm great at pulling things out of my butt! last minute things....

He even researched the best way to melt the chocolate and found that you have to kill the flame after the white chocolate begins to melt otherwise the chocolate starts firming up. We discovered this to be true but thankfully had only guinea pigged half the bag and so we were able to start fresh with the remaining chocolate left. Yum!

We sat and talked for a long time. He wasn't feeling well but still gave me a lovely back rub that he'd promised me. He's very wonderful. I'm very blessed!

This coming date is going to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. We are still working out what we are going to do for sure but I can't wait!

I had a wonderful weekend! I hope you did too. Liam has some funky eye thing going on. We think it's allergies but just to be sure, my hubby stayed home all weekend with him. Faye and I did some shopping and ate lunch with my sister and our bestest (since childhood) friend on Saturday. It was warm and sunny and we soaked it up! On Sunday the girls and I went to church and then Liv and I ventured out after lunch to do our grocery shopping. We stopped by Lowe's and picked up some paint to begin the girls' room. Faye hasn't been moved in there yet but I think once the room is put back together, we'll try her out in there and see how it goes.

Unfortunately these are my before pictures.....

She is a hoarder! When we moved a lot of things went into 'special storage' aka the trash. Poor thing is gonna need some therapy. She remembers everything she's ever had and who got her what. It makes it hard for me (a minimalist at heart) to try and impart my minimalistic ways on her. Her birthday is 3 weeks away... There will be some more toys going into 'special storage' before then.

The only thing that I got finished yesterday was rolling the ceiling. Even the ceilings (upstairs) are painted 'smoker's yellow'!!!!! Now my neck hurts.

Olivia had to sleep in Liam's room last night. It didn't go over well. We ended up having her fall asleep in our bed and we moved her when we went to bed. This is a fairly busy week for me so I'm not sure when I'll have time to get back in there. This may be a very long week...
